Plantronics Electronic Hook Switch (EHS) #38439-11 allows for "one-touch" remote answer/disconnect calls while roaming around your office with a Plantronics wireless headset.  This elminates the need for using the HL10  This device is designed for usage following Polycom phones that support Electronic Hook Switch:

  • SoundPoint IP 320/321 (also requires additional adapter)
  • SoundPoint IP 330/331 (also requires additional adapter)

Software Requirements

All of the phone models must run SIP application 3.1 or higher and BootROM 4.1.0 or later, except for the SoundPoint IP 670, which must SIP application 3.0.2 or higher and BootROM 4.1.0 or later.

Phone Settings (SoundPoint IP Phones)

Set the headset mode on your phone to "Plantronics Mode" before connecting your Plantronics headset system to your phone. To do so,

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Select Settings > Basic > Preferences > Headset > Analog Headset.
  3. Select Plantronics Mode, and then press Select.

Phone Settings (VVX Phones)

Set the headset mode on your phone to "Plantronics Mode" before connecting your Plantronics headset system to your phone. To do so,

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Select Settings > Basic > Preferences > Headset > Hookswitch > Plantronics.
  3. Select Plantronics Mode, and then press Select.
  4. Your phone may reboot after doing this procedure.  Allow your phone to reboot.
  5. Now you are ready to use your Plantronics wireless headset with the APP-51 Adapter.

NOTE: Additional Adapter Required for Polycom Models below

The following phone models require an additional converter adapter to connect the EHS cable to the 2.5mm headset port:

  • SoundPoint IP 320/321
  • SoundPoint IP 330/331
