This is a new type of cable that improves on the original Plantronics HIS headset adapter cable #72442-41 by adding a mute button and lighter cord. This new cord makes it easier to stay "on calls" without the need to reach for the phone and pressing the mute button. No wasted motion or need to reach over to your phone with the new in-line mute button. And the lighter cord makes wearing a headset a more pleasant task. This cord is compatible with all Plantronics H and HW series headsets. To take advantage of the full wideband audio that is offered with the Avaya 1600 and 9600 IP phones, use the HIS Adapter Cable with your wideband Plantronics headset (ie HW710N). The Quick Disconnect (QD) capability allows the headset to detach without losing the call.
Use this Plantronics HIS cord to connect your Plantronics H-series headset directly to your Avaya 96xx and 16xx series IP telephone including Avaya IP 1608, 1616, 9608, 9610, 9611, 9611G, 9620, 9620C, 9620L, 9621, 9630, 9630G, 9640, 9640C, 9641, 9641G, 9650, 9650G, 9650C, 9670, J139, J169, J179. This provides "on-hook" functionality so that you won't have to pickup your telephone's receiver with every call when using your Plantronics headset. Only purchase this cable if you have one of the phone models listed below. No Plantronics amplifier is required if you purchase this cable.
