The Jabra Evolve2 65 (cordless) was built to last. However, the leatherette earpads would flake out on you after some time. The cushion would be exposed and the headset would be uncomfortable to wear.

That being said, Jabra has provided cushion replacements that provide more comfort and make your Evolve2 65 look like it's fresh out of the box. In this video, Rolando shows how to replace those old earpads with these new Jabra Evolve2 65 cushion replacements.

Let’s get to it!

In this video, we're replacing the Jabra Evolve2 ear pads for the Evolve2 65 and 40. You will notice that the 40 and the 65 have the same form factor except for that 65 is cordless and the 40 is corded. Otherwise, these ear pads will work for both. So let's get started.

These come off very easily. They're labeled R and L for right and left. We just snap those off and then we'd set the other one off. And what you want to do is when you snap them off, you can grab with the fingertips and it'll pop right off.

Now, we've got the replacements here, so let's take the bad one's out. We're going to have our fresh new ear pads that are going to go in and you'll see that they still have an outline of an R and an L, so that you'll know which part is facing from the top and which one's in the bottom.

So, we're just going to stick them back in as well as R and L. A little pointer on this one here. So what you're looking for is this little notch, and I'll bring this up closer to this camera. There's a notch right in here. And this is the top part. This is the bottom part. Top, bottom. And there's the notch right in here. And that's where you're going to line up that notch with another notch. That's right up here, which is towards the part that is on the top.

Okay. And that's how you know, you're going to line it up. So now we've got the R facing up. We're just going to try to eyeball it and we see that the fatter nodule is sticking up. This thinner one is down. We've got our other little notch here and we're just going to eyeball it. We can also see that the R is facing up. And when we have it there, see, I didn't line it up properly that time. There we go. We're going to hear a snapping. There we go. That's how you know, you've got it locked in place.

You don't have to press it very hard. They're very fitted so that they'll fit right on and no hard snapping, but just a good gentle push. You want to use both thumbs and from underneath, I just typically use my other fingers below. It's for support. So now we'll do that again on the left. We locate the fatter part, the fatter of the two nodules that are in there.

We'll just look for this little ridge that's in here as well. Okay. And we try to line that up as well with the adjacent notch that's there. Okay. I'm going to just eyeball it so you could see. I'm just eyeballing it up here and I'm going to look for that snap. Okay. I didn't get a snap.

So let me try again. There we go. Second time's the charm and there we go. We have replacement ear pads for both the Jabra Evolve2 40 and Evolve2 65.

Quick Guide for Avid Readers

1. Pop the old earpads with your fingertips. You may hear a snap once you take them off but don’t worry about it.

2. Both replacement earpads are labeled with an R and an L so you won’t mistakenly place a pad on the wrong earpiece.

3. Look for the notch on the right side of the earpad. This indicates which side goes to the top and the bottom. The notch should fit perfectly on the earpiece. If it doesn’t fit, then it’s probably turned upside down.

4. Gently push the earpad down the earpiece. You should hear a snap when the notches are aligned properly.

5. Do the same process to the opposite earpiece.
