Work From Home - Hands-Free Devices - Speaker Phones, Headsets, Bluetooth, and other considerations before making your purchase.

In our very first livestream, our hosts, Rolando and Dave talk about the Work From Home , remote work, work from anywhere environment, wireless technologies, the differences between DECT and Bluetooth, and quite a bit more as we engage with our customers in real-time.

We discuss how different technologies such such as Bluetooth and DECT are implemented into Headsets, Speakerphones, laptops, tablets, and headphones. Not all laptops that have Bluetooth are the same. Different design, software, and antenna configurations can contribute to inconsistent audio and poor user experience when laptops are connected to headphones or other Bluetooth hands-free devices. Although Bluetooth is a "universal standard" We have found that over the years that clients continue to experience Bluetooth connection problems regardless of the device they're connecting to such as smartphones using iOS or Android, desk phones, along with multiple laptop manufacturers.

The most problematic Bluetooth connections are typically on laptops. To avoid Bluetooth connection problems we always recommend to use a Bluetooth long dongle with your headphones or speakerphones. All the major manufacturers - Poly, Plantronics, Sennheiser, EPOS, Yealink, Bose, and Jabra have variants that include the Bluetooth dongle in order to optimize the audio, enhanced user experience, Ensure compatibility with business applications such as Microsoft teams, Zoom, ring central, Vonage, Chime, Webex, and several others.

We also let you in on a secret... we've stumbled upon a way to easily enhance Bluetooth signal and coverage. We demonstrate a simple USB extender that can be used to increase the range of your Bluetooth devices such as headphones, speakerphones, keyboard, mouse or other hands-free device.

We also explain why you get shorter range on some Bluetooth devices versus longer range on others. The bottom line here is that you need to understand which Bluetooth implementation is included in both the hands-free device as well as the target device. if either have the short range standard then you will only get a maximum of 33 ft of range.
